We’ll be back soon!

It’s been just under a year since my last Instagram post and I left the pottery world without a proper goodbye. Truth be told, I didn’t intend to leave. About eight months prior to my departure, my life changed drastically: I officially became a single mom to a child with special needs. I had no idea what the journey toward getting my son diagnosed and connected with the proper support services would entail. I thought I could maintain the pace I had set for myself before my life changed, and I wasn’t ready to admit that I couldn’t keep Girl Bossing my way forward. But life has a way of humbling you, and I finally admitted that taking a break was necessary.

In addition, I had a lot of unaddressed business needs that all hit at once. Solving equipment and supply chain issues seemed impossible to prioritize against my son’s healthcare. I also had long outgrown my tiny basement studio space, and in the little pockets of time I’ve had over the last year, I began to expand and renovate my basement studio to allow me to work more efficiently… in a happier space.

While I am still adjusting to my new reality and I still have some work ahead of me to be able to jump back in to pottery with both feet, I’ve waited as long as I could stand it. I truly miss having my hands in clay and sharing my work with the world, and I’m excited to officially revive Ice + Dust.

I can’t wait to share the new creations I have in the works right now. My life has changed, and I anticipate my work and the way I show up here will as well. But I’ve invested far too much of myself in art to be able to stay away for long, and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with you all.

Thank you for sticking with me. I’ll see you soon.
