I occasionally take on custom projects and commissions that feel like a natural fit for my work. If you have something in mind, you’re welcome to tell me about it below.
Please note: submitting this form is an inquiry only. It does not guarantee that I’ll be able to take on your project, and it does not reserve a spot in my schedule. I review requests as my availability allows and will reach out if your project is something I’m able and excited to take on.
Because everything I make is handmade and my studio time is limited, I’m selective about custom work. The best fit is usually an idea that builds on something I already make — a different variation, size, phrase, motif, or concept that still feels at home in the Ice & Dust world.
A note about custom pricing
Custom work is generally priced higher than similar pieces from my existing collection. Bespoke projects require additional time for planning, communication, design, testing, sourcing, and sometimes multiple attempts to achieve the desired result.
Please keep this in mind when sharing your budget. If you’re primarily looking for something at the price point of my existing work, purchasing from my current collection will usually be the better option.
A few things I don’t take on
Replicas of another artist’s work
Please don’t ask me to recreate a piece made by another ceramic artist, maker, or designer — even if the original is unavailable, sold out, or no longer being made.
Exact replacements or reproductions
I generally can’t recreate a broken, lost, vintage, or sentimental piece to look exactly like the original. Handmade ceramics have too many variables for exact duplication, and reproduction work isn’t where I do my best work.
Exact color matching
Ceramic materials and firing can be wonderfully unpredictable, so I can’t guarantee an exact match to a paint swatch, photograph, existing object, or specific shade.
Precision dimensions or exact-fit pieces
Clay shrinks during drying and firing, and the handmade process naturally creates variation. I can’t guarantee exact finished measurements or create pieces that need to fit precisely into an existing object, opening, fixture, or space. Approximate dimensions are absolutely welcome — precision specifications are not.
Licensed, copyrighted, or trademarked designs
I don’t reproduce logos, characters, artwork, brand identities, sports/team marks, or other intellectual property that I don’t have permission to commercially use.
Projects far outside my existing work
If the project requires a completely different style, technique, material, or type of object than what you see in my current work, I’m probably not the right artist for it.
Copies of my own past work aren’t always possible, either
Glazes, materials, processes, and my work itself change over time. You’re always welcome to ask about something I’ve made before, but I may offer a new interpretation rather than an exact duplicate.
